The iRestore Laser Hair Growth System is clinically proven to treat hair loss for both men and women. Low-level laser therapy is a non-invasive, safe, and clinically proven way to stimulate hair follicles to grow thicker and fuller hair without negative side effects. This powerful medical device uses clinical-strength laser technology to treat balding, thinning hair and receding hairline.

There are some studies that have indicated its safety and effectiveness. It is even equipped with headphones and an MP3 or iPod interface so you can enjoy music and relax while the device is working to promote hair growth. It is specifically designed for treating Androgenetic Alopecia (genetic-based hair thinning/loss). It energizes the cellular activity within the hair follicle promoting the proliferation of healthy, thick and full hair.
This type of hair loss in men has been associated with a number of other medical conditions including the enlargement of the prostate, and coronary heart disease. Additionally, insulin resistance, high blood pressure, and obesity can all be contributing factors to hair loss. In women, this type of hair loss is usually associated with polycystic ovary syndrome, which is characterized by a hormonal imbalance.
2) There have been 6 double-blind clinical studies comparing the HairMax LaserComb to a sham device that have all consistently proven the efficacy and and safety of the device. Further, there have been 6 FDA 510(k) Clearances granted for the HairMax LaserComb. No other device on the market can provide anywhere the number of studies that have proven its efficacy, nor as many FDA reviews., Finally, as listed on this post, no other device has had as many papers published on the results of the clinical trials of their devices in peer review journals, as has the HairMax Laser Comb.

While it is common to lose 50-100 hairs a day, if you are losing more that that, noticing thinning, a receding hair line, or bald spots you may be experiencing hair loss. The American Academy of Dermatology estimates that 80 million men and women in the United States suffer from hair loss, which can be caused by a variety of reasons ranging from disease, hormones, stress, or with the most common cause being hereditary hair loss. Whatever the reason it’s devastating.
• Switch to OTC shampoo Nizoral A-D three times a week. It contains ketoconazole, an antifungal that may reduce hair loss by reducing production of testosterone in hair follicles, according to scientists at the University of British Columbia. Balding men who used a 1 percent ketoconazole shampoo two or three times a week for six months saw a 17 percent reduction in hair shedding, a Belgian study finds.
I'm so sorry to hear you didn't get the hoped-for results from using the iGrow. Low Level Light Therapy (LLLT) is a clinically-proven treatment for genetic hair loss, but naturally results can vary from person to person depending on many factors such as extent of hair loss, genetics and just the differences between individuals. Many people are indeed happy to wear hats, shave their heads or just learn to "live with it", but for those who are not the iGrow has helped thousands of men and women worldwide with their thinning hair.
The helmet, when worn appropriately on the head and switched on, emits a red light, which is then absorbed by your cells. They claim that the light energy absorbed stimulates a rapid change in the metabolism rate and ATP production of the cells. This causes the hair follicles that have long been dormant to start producing hair again. Aside from the promise of regrowth of your hair, it is said also to strengthens and builds up the hair follicle so that your existing hair looks a lot thicker.  Results is said to be visible in 3 to 6 months
Thousands of people have successfully used the iGrow but, like diets and exercise programs, it's simply impossible to predict individual effectiveness until tried for 4-6 months. That's why iGrows purchased directly from us come with a Satisfaction Guarantee- so people can try it for a full 6 months and, if not effective for them, return it for a refund.
The only thing that can trip you up here is if you get it and don’t use it as much as you’re supposed to. If after 6 months you don’t like it and end up returning it, the restocking fee will be about $120, so worst case scenario you’re going to pay $20 a month to try it out and see what you think. When you look at it this way, and compare it to the cost of trying out other products, it doesn’t sound like too big a risk. Plus if it works you’ve got a one-off payment for a hair growth solution that you can use daily with nothing more to pay.
I didn’t get that upset about my hair falling out due to the chemo. The first day it started happening, I called the person who cut my hair and she came to the house and shaved it all off. It was really pretty liberating. But unfortunately, it didn’t grow back as thick and full as it had been before all the chemo and another drug I was on for about 4 years.
First, let me start by saying I bought my IGrow system back in 2011. I used it diligently 3xs a week and WOW. It really changed the thickness and texture of my individual strands. It also helped dormant follicles come back and my thinning spots went away. Truly helped bring my self confidence back in my life. Once my hair got strong I did extensions for awhile and then I was pregnant so my hair was awesome for a few years! Now that my baby is 3yrs old and I'm 45 my hair has gotten thin again. So I brought out my IGrow out of the closet to get my hair back. The only problem was it kept shorting out. It wouldn't stay on. So I called the company hoping for a replacement box that I would of had no problem paying for. Since it had been over 6 years since I bought it. Well, I gotta say this company probably has the best customer service I have ever experienced. First, I spoke to Jonathan the owner a funny very personable guy who told me to call back on the next business day to get things sorted. When I did and explained to Melody what it was doing she told me, it was a wire in the helmut. So she told me to send back my 6 yr old helmut and she would replace it with a new one for FREE! I was astounded! This company and their people truly stand behind their products and their just amazing and kind. If I still lived in California I would beg for a job. If more companies in the world were ran like this, it would be a much better place. Thank you again IGROW for not only a great product, but for you😃

Hi Julie – I just wanted to say thank you for your review. I have been diagnosed with chronic telogen effluvium almost 2 years ago and experience considerable daily shedding with pretty much no regrowth noticeable. I’m still contemplating purchasing this crazy device at this point but your ongoing review has helped add some perspective. Looking forward to the next update.
the first thing I noticed is that my white hair (I am now 77 years old), turned darker. Fist just slightly grey then almost black around the edges. My hair grows faster, looks healthier and get comments about my full head of hair all the time. I have a small bald spot on the back of my head that has had only a slight improvement and some new hair, but not radical.
The second one appeared in the peer-review medical journal, The International Journal of Trichology in August 2014. The article provides photographic evidence of the efficacy of the HairMax LaserComb used on subjects treated for at least 9 months for drugs and were either no longer responding or were intolerant of these treatments. The HairMax LaserComb was added to treatments with either with minoxidil and/or finasteride regimens, or used in place of these treatment. Almost 90% of patients treated with drugs and the HairMax LaserComb had significant results, and 100% of those patients treated with the device in place of the drugs, showed significant results.
I have been using igrow for more than a year and while I do not see any improvement I also do not see my hair getting any worse. I believe that the use of the igrow is helping me maintain my my current hair. I only wish that I started using the unit earlier when I had more hair. My only issue is that my ear pads are beginning to wear out. I do not see replacement parts or recommend alternative replacement pads on the igrow site so that I can replace them.
I used the products faithfully for almost nine months. To my disappointment, hair kept falling out. I purchased the helmet, shampoo, serum, and pills. I requested for a refund based on their guarantee, and they stated that I had missed the deadline for this request by 15 days. WOW, really? Scam company run by a bunch of scumbags. Don't waste your money on this bogus product!
During the first couple of weeks, you won’t notice much in terms of new hair growth. However, there were a number of reports stating that hair fall was significantly reduced, even during a shower. If you’ve ever dealt with the heartbreak that comes with washing your hair and watching hundreds of strands going down the drain, then this alone will be a huge incentive to buy.
Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) has been used for hair rejuvenation for quite some time now. What is LLLT? I will make it pretty simple, I assume you have heard of laser hair removal right? This is essentially the same thing but with the opposite effect. Certain wavelengths of light can be used to remove hair, and others can be used to rejuvenate hair. The practice of exposing cold laser light to your scalp with the goal of bio-stimulation in mind has been proven effective for decades now. So does that mean that this FDA cleared iGrow Laser Helmet is going to be the solution to hair loss problems? Read along and well find out together.
Reviewers seem to always think that their personal case applies to everyone and make definitive statements like “don’t waste your money” or “it works”. Each user will respond differently to laser light therapy for hair loss. Hair growth response will depend on the type of hair loss, skin tone, skin thickness, and dosage. Certain types of hair loss will not respond to laser light therapy, no matter what…this product and ones like it will not work for some people. If it doesn’t work for you, then you may fall within this category and there’s no point in telling others that it doesn’t work and not to waste money. These types of products may also be less effective in people with a darker skin tone. Melanin in skin absorbs light. Likewise, melanin in skin will absorb the light coming from these products. The darker you are, the more melanin you have, and the more absorption of light…those with darker skin tone may want to increase dosage (speak with a trichologist first). About dosage, go to pubmed.com and find articles that reviewed laser light therapy dosage. You’ll find that there is a very broad range of length of time and frequency of application…some articles say 2-3 times a week while others say up to 40 times a week. Once again, we’re all different and dosage with respect to time and frequency will depend on the individual. A user must also consider how penetration of light into the skin has an influence on efficacy. Penetration of light will depend on the level of intensity of light, the thickness of a user’s skin, and the distance of the light from the skin, (as well as the melanin concentration as stated above). The iGrow helmet has its own standard of light intensity, while other devices may have a different intensity of light. The intensity and distance of light to a user’s scalp are probably the most important factors that will determine penetration of light into the skin. Optimal penetration needs to occur for this type of therapy to work. I’m assuming iGrow has figured out the optimal distance and intensity of light for best results.

Now as far as the product itself is concerned…I’m currently using it and I like how I can just put it on and let it do its thing. A helmet means that your hands are free to do whatever else, though you’ll have to use it while sitting down since the helmet is plug in only (which is why that guy dying on a bicycle while wearing this helmet joke comment was just plain stupid and not all that funny). The fit takes a bit of time to get used to. Also, there are these four little knobs that hold the helmet in place and keep it at a proper distance from your scalp, they’re somewhat uncomfortable at first but you get used to them. Though I am concerned that these positioning knobs prevent light from reaching the scalp in those areas. I’ve been using iGrow for 1 month, haven’t really noticed much of a difference. I’ll keep using for another 5 months. There’s a very low probability that I’ll remember to repost here in 5 months, so don’t expect any additional feedback. Good luck and try this device (or another one like it)…it only hurts the wallet, not you.

I did receive an email from the PR folks for iRestore saying that they could send me their special shampoo and hair serum to try too. I declined that offer because I want to review the iRestore by itself. They also said that it might take as long as 24 weeks to notice positive changes. That differs from the information that came with the iRestore which says it takes 16 weeks. Right now I’m about halfway through the 16 week period. I’ll have another update in a couple weeks.
Fortunately, there are plenty of solutions, including products such as laser combs and other systems designed to slow hair loss while promoting new growth. We’ll explore four of those products – including the iRestore Laser Hair Growth System – in this post, along with other topics, such as what to look for when buying them, and laser combs vs. laser helmets.

This is one of the most widely recommended laser helmets on the market, with good to excellent reviews. It features 51 medical-grade lasers, lightweight design, and it’s FDA cleared. According to the company’s own 2017 study, 100% of users saw a visible improvement in hair growth after 4 months; 43.23% was the average increase in hair count. Current cost is around $600.
